Miniato is the quaint medieval hilltop town that hosts one of the world’s most
acclaimed food festivals, dedicated to perhaps the most prestigious product: the white truffle. This delicacy is often referred to as “white gold” and “diamond of the earth” – surely also for its incredibly
high price tag, which last year reached €4000 for a kilo!
Despite its international fame, the San Miniato festival maintains an atmosphere of a local market fair, tied to its traditional roots. The primary goal remains to have visitors get to know the authentic products and customs of
