Food stands
and performers will fill the squares and courtyards offering entertainment for
the whole family. Museums will reduce their admission fees to encourage
visitors to discover their treasures. It will also be the chance to see the
largest work ever produced in alabaster: the amazing model of the leaning tower of Pisa – which has just returned home
after a world tour.
On Sunday
October 21st at 3:00 pm there will be a historic pageant that evokes
the challenge between the town’s contradas (districts) and includes the unique
Corsa dei Caci (a cheese rolling contest). On November 1st at 3:30
pm a procession in period costumes with musicians and flag throwers will animate the streets.
